COVID-19 Update May 31, 2020

COVID-19 is an ever evolving situation. While Virginia is slowly reopening, masks and social distancing will continue to several weeks to come. There is good news for our swimmers. Restrictions on outdoor recreation spaces have lessened. We are adding classes in June!! All classes comply with the guidelines provided by local agencies. This means all new classes are either private or small group. Parent and Me classes will resume in July. We are working diligently at weaving the current enrollment into our schedule so we can accommodate each of our swimmers.

We are slowly ramping up for our July and August sessions where we expect lessons will return to normal. The classes for June are open for enrollment. Call, email or text us to be put on the schedule. Most classes available are once a week.

July and August classes are online if you have not had a chance to check them out. These classes will we resume our schedule of classes 2 times per week as well as introducing boot camps that meet daily for 2 weeks, an adult fitness class, and a run club add on with the goal of our swimmers to cross train for a 5K by Labor Day. We cannot wait to swim and run with your children to utilize the stored energy. It's going to be a fantastic summer!

We would like to repeat our acknowledgement of Governor Northam’s Executive Order Fifty-Five. According to Norfolk’s Public Health Department, our outdoor space qualifies us to continue operations under Article 1 e. Swimming is permitted as an exercise as long as individuals comply with social distancing requirements. If you are interested in further discussing how your family can utilize our facilities in the upcoming weeks, including private family use reservations and/or limited interaction with our team in a private instruction environment, please email us at katieskickers@gmail.com.

We have zero reported cases of Covid-19 among our team. Your children’s health and our team’s health is important to us. We are taking every precaution to sanitize our space and need the help of those who elect to join us to stay in compliance with the executive order. Social distancing and hand washing are among the most important measures right now. We are providing your families with links below for resources on how to talk to your children about Covid-19 and fun videos on washing your hands again because we support it’s message.

Katie’s Kickers Swim staff are working diligently at processing all of those families affected by the COVID- 19 closure for the month of April. When classes resume, we are offering additional make-up classes or credit for classes that were missed due to the COVID-19 closure. Once we fully resume operations, we will also continue processing payments as previously outlined in our registration policy. We hope we might bring a small measure of normalcy back to your swimmer’s life and the life saving measure of swim lessons.

Because our goal is to get every single team member back to work, we are doing our best during to provide support to our team members and help them navigate these uncertain times. While they are available as certified care givers to families whose parents are still working, we are looking forward to working together again and being joined with your smiling swimmers. As restaurants reopen, please remember these lovely ladies as qualified babysitters for your much needed date nights or Moms Night Out. They love their guppies just as dearly at bedtimes as they do in the pool.

We truly appreciate your patience, loyalty and trusting us with your children. Nothing is more important to us. We are thankful to have earned your business and your time. We will keep you updated with any changes as the situation unfolds. We would like to encourage you to check out our Facebook page, so that we can stay in touch and you can see updated activity tips. We will be checking our email frequently for any questions or a quick note to say hello. Until we are reunited, just keep swimming in those bathtubs, blowing bubbles whenever possible, and stretching those strong swimming arms!

Respectfully,
Coach Katie and the Katie’s Kickers Staff

At Katie’s Kickers, we believe the best way to motivate our little swimmers to want to learn about water safety is by making our lessons interactive and engaging! In fact, incorporating fun and games into swimming lessons can be highly effective in teaching crucial safety skills to our youngest students.
