Here at Katie's Kickers we are constantly monitoring protocols and recommendations given to us by the CDC.
It's great news that we have been able to stay open during Covid-19 and we continue to stay open because our families and staff are following the procedures that we've implemented to ensure everyone is safe and healthy. All of our staff is fully vaccinated and boosted.
As of most recent visit from the health inspector, the pool area yielded 0% traces of COVID-19 virus on the surfaces and 100% pool chemistry.
As the new season starts, we wanted to share our current procedure for maintaining the pool deck.
Pool Deck Sanitation
At end of each day, the pool deck is disinfected.
We wipe down every chair, table, and couch cushion every 90 to 100 minutes.
All toys, kick-boards, and noodles are washed down with bleach daily after spending the day in the chlorinated pool.
Pool Water Chemistry
The pool water has 3 units monitoring the chemistry daily- a hand held digital reading, the pool's electric control panel, and an individual test kit.
The health inspector comes twice a month to take samples of the pool area and test the water levels.
What you can do
Enter the pool deck no more than 5 minutes before your lesson is scheduled to begin.
As an indoor facility, masks are not required. We encourage you to wear them as you feel necessary. If you choose not to wear a mask, limit to only 1 caregiver per family.
If possible, only bring the children enrolled in lessons. We understand you may need to bring your younger or older children due to child care limitations, but friends and guests should be limited.
Maintain 6 feet from other people on the pool deck. You are welcome to bring your own chair if you feel ours are too close together or are already full.
If you arrive and the pool deck is full, you may wait in your car once the instructor has taken your child into the water. Please return for pick up at the end of the class with a towel and deck shoes.
If you choose to wait on the pool deck, please feel free to use the disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer before you sit or when you leave if there is any question of the cleaning schedule.
Now boasting more than 3,000 student swimmers taught, the positive impact of Katie’s Kickers has been felt and praised by local families across the Hampton Roads. It’s become a household name and a staple within the community because Katie’s love of swimming began when she herself was a child.
At Katie’s Kickers, we believe the best way to motivate our little swimmers to want to learn about water safety is by making our lessons interactive and engaging! In fact, incorporating fun and games into swimming lessons can be highly effective in teaching crucial safety skills to our youngest students.
We’re happy to know that our swim lessons don’t just create life-saving skills, but beautiful
friendships and a sense of community as well – because that’s priceless!
As another incredible year comes to a close at Katie’s Kickers, we can’t help but to take a look back at all we’ve been able to accomplish within our beloved Hampton Roads community.
During May’s Military Appreciation Month, we want to thank our families for their service to our country and also encourage new families moving into the area to reach out to us and learn how we can help your family navigate water as safely as possible.
